Ascenz’s products are divided into two parts software and systems and equipment and sensors. Software and systems include online shipulse portal, shipulse dashboard, and BukerXchange. The online shipulse portal offers real-time precise fuel consumption data from vessel to shore and with the help of appropriate decision support tools allows customers to achieve effective vessel performance management. It enables customers to track vessels with the fleet overview, full view bunking activity is displayed via bunker overview, track key metrics to fuel consumption, engine load, and hull and propeller performances by performance analysis, and get a full overview of vessel performance and efficiency by activity summary. The shipulse dashboard fosters an instant visual understanding of ship performance during actual operations resulting in a timely response from the crew on benchmark deviations, by offering real-time visualization performance metrics.
The product includes fuel consumption dashboard, engine performance dashboard, and activity dashboard, making the product robust and ensuring customer satisfaction. Ascenz’s software and systems product BukerXchange helps in monitoring ongoing bunkering activities by providing on timely visualization of bunker profiles to increase productivity and procurement assessment.
Equipment and sensors division includes products like Coriolis flow meters, torque meters, and data acquisition systems (DAS). Coriolis flow meter determines the inertial force developed by the movement of the fluids through the tubes. The flow meter is exempted by flow profiles, change of temperature, pressure conditions, and viscosity that concludes in getting higher accuracy and reliability. The Coriolis flow meter works across an array of flow rates and process conditions, which reduces installation and operation costs. Another product, torque meters identify the root cause of inefficiencies like equipment issues, bad weather, and low-quality fuel. It measures and monitors key performance indicators on a rotating system. Torque meters benefit in monitoring engine performance, hull, and propeller performance, maintaining planning, fault detection, changes in ship condition, and reduction of operational costs. Lastly, shipulse data acquisition system (DAS) being Ascenz’s proprietary controller is formulated to integrate with shipboard sensors, aggregate and transmit and collect data from satellite and GSM networks. The product can transform any vessel into a quick ship enabling it to capture vital shipboard information automatically and smoothly transmit the information to the shore for advanced analysis.
Considering an example of Rhino shipping, one of the largest shipping company in Asia and is pressured by the maritime organizations, for adopting a greener shipping practice which results to increase in operating costs. In the presence of the lack of intelligence information, the fuel purchasing decision is clouded by the price. Furthermore, incorrect and non-uniform temperature and densities can have a high probability of false conversions of volume to mass totals; this has lead to fuel pilferage. These factors sometimes lead to disputes which are difficult for the owner to prevail due to lack of information. In order to reduce the deviation rate, Ascenz purposes Rhino to invest in bunker fuel from supply barges with installed mass flow meters. Despite having higher installation costs, mass flow meters have less operational issues opposed to regular meters, enhancing the operational and crew efficiency.
Ascenz has partnered with Apizee, a cloud-based solution provider for the Premium Partnership Program with an aim to work together and integrate Apizee Diag into Shipulse. The Ascenz team is leading to the creation of a global alternative digital ecosystem to assist maritime players through their digital and data journey.
